Wine is made from fermented grapes. There are three types of wine which are red, white, and rose wine. White wines are made from colorless green-skinned grapes. Red grapes are used to make red wine. Different types of red wine are Bordeaux, Chianti, Rioja, Syrah, and primitive. White wines come in different types which are Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Chardonnay. Rose wine has flavors common to red wines, like cherry, strawberry, and raspberry which will be explained more in this article.

Three types of wine are:

Red Wines

Red wines have dark fruit flavors. They are also defined by tannins that make them a great match for food. Additionally, oak ageing plays a part in many red wines.

Types of Red Wine

Bordeaux

Additionally, there are different types of red wine. A lot of red wines are blends of different grapes. The most famous red blend is Bordeaux and it is French wine. It can be made from sauvignon, cabernet, merlot, cabernet franc, and a few other varieties

Chianti

Furthermore, some red wines like central Italy’s Chianti are strongly identified with one grape but can have a small percentage of other grapes blended in.

Rioja

Moreover, Rioja is a Spanish blended wine made mostly from the tempranillo grape. It is the third most-planted wine grape in the world. It is blended with mazuelo, garnacha, and graciano to make rioja. This all works to add body and structure to this dry, plush, and woody wine. This type of wine is classified by the length of time they have spent ageing.

Syrah

To add on, Syrah is another type of red wine. It is a type of red wine grape that is frequently used to make a single-varietal wine. It is known for being a very drinkable wine with deep, meaty, dark fruit flavors and a full body.

Another Type of Wine is White Wine

White wines are more refreshing than reds, with aromatic notes like flowers, citrus, and orchard fruits. They are usually lighter in body and alcohol.

Types of White Wine

Pinot Grigio

Firstly, Pinot Grigio is one of the types of white wine. It is a grape that is often made into a light, refreshing white wine that is known by different names in different countries. In Italy, it is known as pinot grigio, but the French call it pinot gris. It is usually light, crisp, and dry. Pinot Grigio is the second most popular white wine in the US, after chardonnay. It is usually medium to light-bodied, dry, and acidic wine.

Sauvignon Blanc

Another type of red wine is Sauvignon Blanc. It is prized for its unique citrusy, fruity aroma and refreshingly high acidity. Its flavors vary in intensity depending on where it is grown.

Riesling

This type of red wine is an aromatic white grape that yields a fruity, floral white wine. Characteristics of Riesling wine include aromas of citrus, stone fruit, white flowers, and petrol.

Chardonnay

Moreover, this is the most popular white wine in the world. The chardonnay grape is naturally neutral, and can quickly take on a variety of different characteristics. Also, this depends on where it is grown, and how it is matured.

Another Type of Wine is the Rose Wine

Additionally, red wine is made from red grapes, but the grape skins are removed from the must after a short period of maceration. The grape skins give the wine its pink colour but do not impart much tannin. This type of wine can have flavours common to red wines, like cherry, strawberry, and raspberry.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there are different types of wines which are red, white, and rose wine. These wines come in different types. Types of red wine are Bordeaux, Chianti, Rioja, Syrah, and primitive.
